Michael Wawrzewski is a native of Garnett, Kansas. He graduated with an Associates of Arts Degree from Coffeyville Community College in 1991 and with a Bachelor of Science degree from the Wichita State University in 1995 after completing the Physician Assistant program. He works as a Physician Assistant part-time here in Wichita, Kansas at Wesley Medical Center with the trauma surgery/critical care services.

Michael founded Hospitals of Hope in 1998 after taking multiple short-term mission trips to medically undeveloped countries starting in 1992.  As a true visionary willing to make his ideas a reality, Mike was the recipient of the 2005 American Academy of Physician Assistants Humanitarian of the Year award and the 2008 Frist Humanitarian Award from HCA (Hospital Corporation of America).

Michael is married to Elizabeth, a Bolivian trained dentist, who is currently continuing her education at dental school here in the U.S. Michael and Elizabeth work together to further the ministry of Hospitals of Hope.

Daniel graduated from Wheaton College in 2004 with a BA in Communications and is currently pursuing a Masters in Organizational Development at Friends University.  He returned to his hometown of Wichita after spending a year teaching high school in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Previous to that, he lived in Chicago for five years where he attended school and worked in home remodeling. He has worked in the leadership of several ministries ranging from inner-city tutoring to European evangelism.  He has worked with Hospitals of Hope since fall 2007.



Leta Reppert

Leta graduated from Kansas State University in 2005 with a BA in English and from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2008 with an MA in British and American literature. During the 2005-2006 school year, Leta served as middle school math and science teacher at the Inter-American School in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. While in graduate school, she taught freshman composition and completed a communications internship with a local nonprofit organization. She has worked with Hospitals of Hope since the summer of 2008.
