Hospitals of Hope emerged from a deep sense of purpose, ignited within the heart of our founder, Michael Wawrzewski. His inspiration came from mission trips abroad, where he witnessed the dire need for basic medical care in some of the world's most underserved regions.

With this profound calling, Michael set out to bridge the critical gap in healthcare accessibility that persisted in many corners of the world. Thus, Hospitals of Hope was born, a beacon of hope, compassion, and medical expertise.

Our humble beginnings took shape in the form of a small free clinic in Bolivia, a place where our dedication to healing and serving those in need first took root. It was in this modest clinic that our tireless team of volunteers, medical professionals, and supporters came together, providing essential medical services to individuals who had often never experienced the gift of healthcare.

The impact of our work in Bolivia fueled our ambition to do more, to reach further, and to build a better world through healthcare. And so, we embarked on a transformative journey. With the support of generous donors, we expanded our reach, eventually establishing a 32-bed hospital in Bolivia, a testament to our unwavering commitment to improving the lives of those we served.

However, our vision did not stop there. We were determined to explore innovative solutions that could transcend geographical and logistical barriers. This commitment gave birth to the revolutionary 'Clinic In A Can,' a portable medical facility that could be shipped to remote areas, delivering vital medical services to even the most isolated communities. The Clinic In A Can became a symbol of our adaptability and determination to provide healthcare where it was needed most.

Our journey took us far and wide, touching the lives of countless individuals in need. We expanded our operations to Liberia, where we encountered challenges but also witnessed the resilience of communities striving for better health. In Haiti, we continued to provide crucial medical services, especially during times of crisis, demonstrating our dedication to being a constant source of support. And in Sierra Leone, we left an indelible mark by partnering with local communities to empower them with the tools and knowledge needed for sustainable healthcare solutions.
