PHILIPPINES

Introducing our collaborative humanitarian project in the Philippines, a groundbreaking initiative led by Clinic in a Can in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). In response to the urgent healthcare needs in the aftermath of recent typhoons, we are delivering a specialized obstetrics and gynecology hospital made from converted shipping containers. This hospital is designed to provide a safe and efficient environment for the approximately 900 women giving birth daily, 15 percent of whom face life-threatening complications. The innovative facility, which includes a C-section and delivery suite, sterilization room, patient recovery rooms, and other essential spaces, will be powered by a solar panel-covered roof, ensuring sustainable and reliable energy. Our total aid package, valued at nearly $1 million, encompasses the construction of the hospital, shipping, medical equipment, supplies, and other vital donations. This project marks a significant milestone as Clinic in a Can's first collaboration with the UNFPA, amplifying our impact in providing timely and critical medical care during emergencies. Our dedicated team will travel to the Philippines to set up the hospital, which will be staffed by U.N. physicians, reaffirming our commitment to delivering life-saving healthcare, even in the face of logistical challenges. We are honored to support the UNFPA in their mission to improve maternal health and save lives in the Philippines and worldwide.
